
Abigail Starcher
Professional Librarian
Abigail is originally from Glen Gardner, New Jersey. She holds an M.L.I.S. from the University of South Florida and a B.A. in history from Ave Maria University in Florida. For over eight years, she has worked in both academic and law libraries managing public services. Currently, she is the Access Services Librarian and supervisor at Ave Maria School of Law, where she has served for the past three years. In the summer of 2023, she participated in the Law Library of Congress‘ Creative Digital Projects Internship. Prior to working in libraries, she taught third grade in Zuni Pueblo, New Mexico. She has also been involved in global historical transcription and tagging projects with the University of Iowa and the Mosman Library in Australia. Abigail’s main interests include emerging library technology, coding, AI, historical research, and the digitization, preservation, and transcription of historical documents. Recently, she completed certifications in both Regular Expressions (RegEx) and Sequel (SQL). She is a member of the American Library Association (ALA), American Association of Law Librarians (AALL), and Phi Kappa Phi (USF Chapter 126). In her leisure, she enjoys landscape painting and singing the major choral works of the classical composers.
